Live Channel Control
Quadraviz allows you to control your animations in real-time using the Channels system.
What Are Channels?
Channels are independent control environments in Quadraviz.
Each channel maintains its own state, allowing you to:
Run the same animation in different languages
Separate control for different events or broadcast feeds
Customize inputs independently per channel
Selecting and Opening a Channel
To begin controlling animations:
Go to the Channels tab in the Quadraviz interface.
Select the channel you want to use from the list.
Click on the Channel ID to open and enter the live control view.
User Inputs and Smart Inputs
Once inside a channel:
You’ll see all the User Inputs and Smart Inputs configured in your Rive file.
If multiple inputs have the same name and type, they will be grouped into one control for simplicity.
This applies to both User Inputs and Smart Inputs.
The Live Controller Interface
The controller consists of two main screens:
Preview
Live (Program)
You can toggle between them by clicking on the Preview or Live buttons.
If the button has a solid color, it means that screen is currently selected.
Preview vs Live
Preview allows you to test and configure animations before sending them live.
Live is what the audience sees during the broadcast.
When changing values, the selected screen will be the one receiving those changes.
Selecting and Controlling Scenes
In the controller, select the Scene you want to play.
The UI will show all the controls linked to that specific scene.
Update input values as needed. They will apply to either Preview or Live depending on your selection.
Using Auto-Play
If a user input has an auto-play checkbox, this means it can be automatically triggered when the scene is played.
Example:
Let’s say you have an input named
"in"
bound to a trigger in your Rive file.If Auto-Play is enabled for that input, it will activate automatically when you click Play.
Going Live
Click the Play button to:
Push the Preview scene into Live
Trigger any Auto-Play events bound to the scene
This is especially useful for triggering entrance animations (like "in") the moment a new scene goes live.
Summary
Use Channels to manage isolated control environments
Bind inputs through Rive and Quadraviz View Models
Use Preview to stage changes, and Play to push them live
Enable Auto-Play to trigger actions seamlessly on scene transitions
